Baba Yagada a.k.a Lena Yampolsky
was born and grew up in the southeast
of Georgia in a city Rustavi, situated
16 miles southeast of the capital Tbilisi.
Her family long road trip heritage from
Romania to Central Asia, from Ukraine
to South Caucasus and later to Middle
East can be considered her major
influence. This nomadic tradition, melting pot of cultures and languages makes her inquisitive about
the universe. This distinguishing feature inspire her to
perceive the variety of the world every single day and
express her visions of it by drawing, painting,
sketching and designing.
After getting her education at Avni Art College and later
Camera Obscura Design School in Tel Aviv B.Y. worked as an graphic designer in advertising agency and used her skills as an illustrator for magazines and books. Later a fashion industry became her new field of activity. She have been working with number of clients for more than 10 years as a full time and independent fashion illustrator, textile print artist, fashion and jewelry designer. She continues developing her creativity and professional skills in before mentioned areas of design and illustration.
Currently B.Y. lives in Israel.
